Floors in Dhaka take a lot of punishment. Fine dust blows in from traffic and nearby construction, shoes carry mud indoors during the monsoon, and humid air helps grime settle into grout lines and the pores of mosaic and marble. Our floor cleaning service is a thorough, surface-appropriate clean of the whole floor area, not a quick mop. We break down the film of dirt that daily mopping leaves behind, lift marks and dried spills, and clean edges, corners and skirting. It suits families preparing for guests or an occasion, offices and clinics with heavy foot traffic, and anyone whose floor still looks dull straight after mopping.

Why floors in Dhaka need more than daily mopping

Daily mopping with the same bucket of water mostly moves dirt around. Over weeks, a thin layer of grime, detergent residue and cooking oil tracked out of the kitchen builds up, and the floor starts to look grey or patchy even when it has just been wiped. In Dhaka this happens faster than most people expect: road and construction dust come in through windows and balcony doors, and during the monsoon wet shoes carry in mud that dries into the grout. Humid air keeps grout lines damp, which encourages dark staining in bathrooms, kitchens and ground-floor rooms.

A proper floor clean breaks down that built-up layer, removes it rather than spreading it, and leaves the surface rinsed and dry.

What our floor cleaning covers

We clean the full floor area you book, room by room, including the places a mop rarely reaches: along skirting, behind doors, under light furniture that can be moved safely, and in corners where dust collects. Grout lines on tiled floors are scrubbed with brushes, and marks such as dried food, paint drips, tape residue and shoe scuffs are treated individually. Where the area is large and open, such as an office floor, a corridor or a clinic waiting area, we may use a scrubbing machine to work faster and more evenly, followed by wet vacuuming so dirty water is lifted away instead of drying back in.

Floor types we work on

  • Ceramic and porcelain tiles: the most common floor in newer flats, where grout lines are usually the main problem.
  • Mosaic (terrazzo): found in many older houses; it is porous, so it needs the right cleaner and plenty of rinsing.
  • Marble and granite: cleaned only with stone-safe, pH-neutral products, because acidic cleaners can etch the surface.
  • Vinyl, laminate and engineered wood: cleaned with minimal water to avoid swelling or lifting at the joints.

How we work

Before starting, the team leader walks through the area with you, confirms the floor type and points out any stains that may not come out completely, such as old rust marks, etching on marble or deep discolouration in porous mosaic. We clear small items, dry-sweep or vacuum loose grit so it cannot scratch the surface, then apply a suitable cleaning solution and give it time to work. Scrubbing, rinsing and drying follow. We work in sections so part of your home or office stays usable, and we place wet-floor signs in commercial spaces.

Preparing for the visit and caring for the floor afterwards

Please clear fragile items, rugs and anything stored on the floor under beds or desks before we arrive, and tell us about any areas we should avoid. Keep children and pets out of the rooms being cleaned until the floor is dry, which usually takes an hour or two depending on ventilation and humidity.

Afterwards, use a clean mop with a small amount of neutral cleaner, change the water often, and put doormats at entrances to catch dust. Wiping spills quickly, especially on marble, prevents most stains from setting.

Floor cleaning or floor polishing?

Floor cleaning restores a clean, fresh surface. If your marble, mosaic or large tiled area has lost its shine or shows fine scuffing, floor scrubbing and polishing is the better choice. Carpeted areas are handled with carpet cleaning, and floors covered in cement, paint and plaster after renovation need post-construction cleaning. For a whole-home refresh that includes floors, kitchen and bathrooms, consider deep cleaning.

What our floor cleaning includes

  • Dry sweeping or vacuuming of loose dust and grit
  • Pre-treatment of the booked floor area with a suitable cleaner
  • Hand or machine scrubbing of floor surfaces
  • Brush scrubbing of tile grout lines
  • Edges, corners and along skirting boards
  • Behind doors and under light, movable furniture
  • Spot treatment of marks, tape residue and dried spills
  • Skirting board wipe-down
  • Rinsing to remove cleaning residue
  • Wet vacuuming or drying of excess water
  • Balcony and verandah floors on request
  • Final walk-through with you

How our floor cleaning works

  1. Walk-through and floor check

We identify the floor type, note stains and delicate areas, and agree which rooms are included.

  2. Clearing and dry removal

Small items are moved aside and loose dust and grit are swept or vacuumed so they do not scratch the surface.

  3. Pre-treatment

A floor-appropriate solution is applied and given time to loosen grime, and stubborn marks are treated individually.

  4. Scrubbing

Floors are scrubbed by hand or machine, with brushes used along grout lines, edges and corners.

  5. Rinsing and drying

Dirty solution is lifted with a wet vacuum or clean mops and the floor is rinsed so no residue is left behind.

  6. Final inspection

We check the floor with you, touch up any missed spots and put moved items back where they belong.

Benefits of professional floor cleaning

  • Removes built-up grime

Breaks down the layer of dirt and detergent residue that daily mopping leaves behind, so the floor looks genuinely clean again.

  • Brighter grout lines

Grout is scrubbed by hand, so the lines between tiles look lighter and more even.

  • Surface-safe products

Cleaners are chosen for your floor type, so marble, mosaic, vinyl and wood are not damaged by harsh chemicals.

  • Less settled dust

Removing ground-in dust means less of it is kicked back into the air as people walk around, which helps homes with young children.

  • Fewer slippery patches

Clearing greasy film and residue helps reduce slippery areas near kitchens, bathrooms and entrances.

  • Minimal disruption

We work in sections, so part of your home or workplace stays usable while we clean.

Equipment, safety and timing

We use pH-neutral detergents for most floors, stone-safe products for marble and granite, and stronger degreasers only in kitchen areas. Larger open floors may be cleaned with a scrubbing machine and wet vacuum, while smaller rooms are done by hand with stiff brushes and microfibre mops. Products are used at recommended dilutions and rinsed off, but we still suggest keeping children and pets off the floor until it is completely dry.

How long it takes: Most flats take 3–5 hours with a team of 2–3; large office and institutional floors are often scheduled over one or more shifts, depending on size and condition.

Floor Cleaning for different types of property

Office

Office floors take constant foot traffic but often get only a quick daily mop, so grime builds up along walkways, around desks and by pantry and washroom doors. We scrub hard floors across open-plan areas, meeting rooms, reception and corridors, using a machine on larger open spaces and hand tools around workstations and floor cable points.

Work is usually scheduled after office hours, at weekends or on public holidays so staff are not disturbed, and wet-floor signs stay out wherever people may still be walking. Carpet tiles are best handled with our carpet cleaning service.

Apartment

In a flat, floor cleaning usually covers the bedrooms, living and dining areas, corridors, kitchen floor, bathrooms and balconies. Tiled floors are the norm in newer apartment buildings, so much of the work goes into grout lines, which darken fastest by the kitchen and bathroom doors. Balcony floors collect road dust and rainwater marks and are scrubbed and rinsed towards the drain.

Where the building requires it, we arrange lift use with the security desk or management, carry equipment in quietly and work room by room so you can keep using the rest of the flat.

House

Independent houses and duplexes usually have more floor area, a wider mix of surfaces and more outdoor-facing spaces. Older homes often have mosaic floors, which are porous and hold dirt deeper than modern tiles, while newer extensions may be tiled or finished in marble. We plan the work floor by floor, including stairs and landings, where each tread and its edge are scrubbed by hand.

Verandahs, the car porch and rooftop floors can be added on request. These usually need extra scrubbing to remove algae, moss or monsoon staining.

Shop & Showroom

In a shop or showroom, the floor is part of the display. Glossy tiles and marble show every shoe mark, and light-coloured floors near the entrance darken quickly with street dust. We clean around display units, fitting rooms and cash counters, remove scuffs and tape marks left from promotions, and give the entrance zone extra attention.

To avoid disrupting sales, we normally work before opening time or after closing. If the floor has lost its shine rather than simply being dirty, floor scrubbing and polishing may be the better choice.

School

School floors deal with a constant flow of shoes every day, along with spilled drinks, chalk and marker dust, and mud carried in from playgrounds. We clean classrooms, corridors, staircases, libraries and canteen areas, scrubbing out the dark tracks that form along walkways and around desks. Staircases get particular attention, because dirty or slippery steps are a safety issue for children.

Work is scheduled during holidays, at weekends or after classes so floors are dry before students return, and all products are rinsed off thoroughly.

Hospital & Clinic

In clinics, diagnostic centres and hospitals, clean floors support infection control and patient confidence. We clean waiting areas, corridors, consultation rooms, staircases and other non-critical zones, working from cleaner to dirtier areas and using separate mops and buckets for toilets. Where the facility has its own disinfection protocol, we follow its instructions on products and contact times.

Work is planned around patient flow, often late in the evening or early in the morning, with clear signage to prevent slips. Operating theatres and specialised clinical areas stay with the facility's own trained staff.

Floor Cleaning prices in Dhaka

Starting from ৳ 6 per sq ft

The price for floor cleaning depends mainly on the floor area, the type of surface and how much build-up there is. Heavily stained grout, old spills or a floor that has not been cleaned properly for a long time takes more time than one that only needs a refresh. Access also matters: furniture that has to be moved, several flights of stairs, or work that must happen outside business hours.

After a free assessment, from photos or a site visit where needed, we confirm the final price before any work starts. For a rough range first, try our online price estimator.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about floor cleaning in Dhaka.

Do I need to move furniture before the floor cleaning?

Please move fragile items, rugs and anything stored on the floor. Our team can shift light furniture such as chairs and side tables, but heavy wardrobes, beds and cabinets are usually cleaned around unless we agree otherwise beforehand.

How long does the floor take to dry?

Most floors are dry enough to walk on within one to two hours, depending on ventilation, humidity and the floor type. During the monsoon it can take longer, so running fans and opening windows helps.

Will the cleaning remove every stain?

Most dirt, grime and surface marks come off, but some stains are permanent, for example rust marks, acid etching on marble or deep discolouration in old mosaic. We point these out before starting so you know what to expect.

Are your products safe for marble floors?

Yes. We use pH-neutral, stone-safe cleaners on marble and granite and avoid acidic or abrasive products that can dull or etch the surface. If your floor has a sealer or any special treatment, please tell us in advance.

Is floor cleaning the same as floor polishing?

No. Floor cleaning removes dirt and restores a fresh, clean surface. Polishing uses a machine and polishing pads to bring back the shine on stone and mosaic floors, and is booked as a separate service.

Do I pay before or after the work?

The price is agreed after the assessment and before work begins. Payment is usually made once the job is complete and you have checked the floors with the team leader; larger commercial jobs follow the terms in the quotation.
