Sofa cleaning removes the dust, body oils, food spills and odours that build up in upholstery over months of daily use. We clean at your home or workplace, so there is no need to transport heavy furniture. Fabric sofas are shampooed and cleaned with hot-water extraction, which lifts dirt from deep in the fibres and draws the dirty water back out, while leather and leatherette are cleaned by hand with suitable products. The service suits families with children or pets, people with dust allergies, anyone preparing for guests or an event, and offices and cafés whose seating gets heavy use. Most sofas are ready to sit on again later the same day.

Why sofas get dirty so quickly

A sofa is the most used piece of furniture in most homes, and its fabric works like a filter. Fine dust drifting in from the road settles into the cushions and is pressed deeper every time someone sits down. Add sweat and hair oil on the headrest and arms, snacks and tea spills, pet hair and the damp air of the monsoon, and upholstery can start to look dull and smell stale even when the room is kept tidy. Vacuuming helps with loose dust, but it cannot remove what has worked into the fibres and the foam underneath.

What we clean and which fabrics we handle

We clean the seats, backrests, arms, sides and back of the sofa, including both sides of removable cushions and the crevices where crumbs and coins collect. The service covers fabric sofas, sectional and L-shaped sets, recliners, sofa-cum-beds, dining and accent chairs, ottomans, and the wooden-frame sofas with foam cushions found in many Dhaka homes. Leather and leatherette (rexine) sofas are cleaned by hand with products suited to the surface rather than wet extraction.

Before starting, we check the fabric, test for colour bleeding on a hidden area and look closely at existing stains. Food, tea and general body soil usually respond well; ink, dye transfer, old oil stains and bleach marks may only fade, and we tell you so before we begin.

How shampooing and extraction work

First the sofa is vacuumed thoroughly to remove dry dust and hair. Stains are pre-treated with a spotting agent chosen for the type of stain, then a fabric-safe shampoo is worked in gently with a soft brush. Finally, a hot-water extraction machine rinses the fibres and pulls the dirty water and residue back out, which is what leaves the fabric clean rather than soapy. The difference is often obvious in the colour of the recovered water. Velvet and other delicate fabrics are given a lower-moisture method to protect the pile.

Preparing, drying and aftercare

Clear the sofa of throws and loose items, move anything stored underneath, and make sure there is a power socket nearby. After cleaning, the fabric will be damp: switch on the ceiling fan, open the windows if the air outside is dry, and avoid sitting on it until it feels dry to the touch, which usually takes several hours and longer on humid monsoon days. Keep coloured cushions, newspapers and dark clothing off damp fabric to prevent dye transfer. To keep it fresh, vacuum weekly, blot spills straight away rather than rubbing them, and book a professional clean every six to twelve months. If rugs or beds need attention too, combine the visit with carpet cleaning or mattress cleaning.

Benefits of professional sofa cleaning

  • Cleaned where it stands

No transport and no waiting for furniture to come back; everything is done on site.

  • Dirt extracted, not smeared

Hot-water extraction removes dirt and detergent residue from deep in the fibres, not just the surface.

  • Fresher-smelling upholstery

Removing body oils, spills and trapped dust tackles stale and musty smells at their source.

  • The right method for each material

Fabric, velvet, leather and leatherette are each cleaned with a suitable technique and product.

  • Kinder to sensitive noses

Reducing dust and pet dander in the cushions can make the living room more comfortable for allergy sufferers.

  • Longer life for your sofa

Regular cleaning removes the abrasive grit that wears fabric thin over time.

Equipment, safety and timing

We use a portable hot-water extraction machine with an upholstery tool, a vacuum with crevice attachments, soft-bristle brushes and microfibre towels. Detergents are fabric-safe and low-residue, with separate spotting agents for food, tea and oil-based stains and dedicated cleaners for leather and leatherette. Products are rinsed out during extraction; keep children and pets off the sofa until it is dry, and tell us about any allergies so we can adjust what we use.

How long it takes: A typical 5–7 seat sofa set takes about 2–3 hours to clean; the fabric usually feels dry in 4–8 hours, longer in humid weather.

Sofa Cleaning for different types of property

Apartment

In apartments, sofas often sit near balcony doors or windows facing the road, so they collect more fine dust than you might expect. We clean on site in the living room, protect the floor with towels, and empty the dirty water into the nearest bathroom or balcony drain. A power socket close to the sofa is all we need.

If your flat is compact, we suggest a morning slot so the sofa can dry with the fan running before the family needs it in the evening.

House

Houses and duplexes often have more than one seating area: a formal drawing room, a family lounge upstairs and sometimes chairs on a veranda. We clean each set in place, carrying equipment between floors, and can include dining chairs and ottomans in the same visit.

Drawing-room sofas that are used only for guests usually need a gentle refresh, while family-room sofas get more intensive stain work. Let us know which sets matter most so we can plan the time accordingly.

Office

Office seating takes heavy, constant use: reception sofas, visitor chairs, lounge seating and upholstered meeting-room chairs. Body oils on armrests and headrests, coffee spills and dust from foot traffic build up quickly and make a space look tired to visitors.

We clean after hours or on the weekly holiday so furniture has time to dry before staff return. Chairs can be cleaned in batches across several visits if part of the office must stay usable at all times.

Restaurant

Upholstered booths, banquettes and chairs in restaurants and cafés collect food spills, grease and odours faster than any home sofa. We pre-treat food and oil stains, extract thoroughly and pay close attention to the seams and crevices where crumbs gather.

Cleaning is scheduled after closing or before opening, and drying is planned so seating is ready for service. Vinyl and leatherette booths are degreased and cleaned by hand. Pair this with a deep clean of the dining area for a full refresh.

Sofa Cleaning prices in Dhaka

Starting from ৳ 400 per seat

Sofa cleaning is priced mainly by the number of seats, including any recliners, dining chairs or ottomans you add. The fabric matters — velvet, delicate weaves and leather need more care and time — and so does the condition, since heavy soiling, pet hair or many stains need extra pre-treatment. Booking sofas together with carpets or mattresses in one visit is usually more efficient.

Our price estimator gives a rough range based on your seat count. The final price is confirmed after a free assessment, usually from photos of the sofa and its fabric.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about sofa cleaning in Dhaka.

How long does a sofa take to dry?

Fabric sofas usually feel dry to the touch within 4 to 8 hours, depending on the fabric, the room's ventilation and the humidity. A ceiling fan and open windows in dry weather speed this up. During the monsoon drying can take longer, so we suggest booking earlier in the day.

Will all the stains come out?

Most everyday stains from food, tea and general use lighten significantly or disappear. Old oil stains, ink, dye transfer, bleach marks and damage from earlier cleaning attempts may only fade or may be permanent. We inspect every stain before starting and tell you honestly what to expect.

Do you clean leather and rexine sofas?

Yes. Leather and leatherette are not suitable for wet extraction, so we clean them by hand with products suited to the surface and condition genuine leather afterwards. Cracked or peeling leatherette cannot be restored by cleaning, but it can still be cleaned carefully.

Is sofa shampooing safe with children and pets at home?

Our detergents are fabric-safe and low-residue, and the extraction machine rinses them back out of the fabric. Keep children and pets off the sofa until it is dry. If anyone at home has sensitive skin or allergies, let us know and we will choose products accordingly.

Do you take the sofa away to clean it?

No, all cleaning is done on site at your home or office. We only need a power socket nearby and access to water, and it helps if the space around the sofa is cleared before the team arrives.

How often should a sofa be professionally cleaned?

Every six to twelve months suits most homes. Households with young children, pets or allergy sufferers, and heavily used seating in offices or cafés, may benefit from cleaning every three to six months.
